Using MacUpdate with AntiVirus Software -------------------------------------- Symantec’s SAM®, or other types of anti-virus software, may warn of "Attempt to Create" an Application, Driver, Extension, Control Panel, etc., etc., depending on what types of files are currently being updated. MacUpdate also “Bypasses the Resource Manager” (it opens the resource fork directly, for the sake of speed), so a warning of this type may appear as well. If you will be using MacUpdate often, you should consider clicking on the “Learn” button to let SAM® know that these operations are OK. If you “Deny” any of these operations, the file that you deny this operation for will NOT be properly updated. If you are running MacUpdate in the background while you are working with some other program, you may get warnings about the application you are working with in the foreground.
